An increased security presence will remain at the State Capitol ahead of inauguration day, though local law enforcement officials say there have been no credible threats of violence at this time. At a joint news conference with the New York State Police, Albany Police Department and FBI Friday, officials detailed some of the measures put in place to secure the community's safety.

State Street entrances to the Capitol will remain closed, and vehicle traffic will also be blocked through Inauguration Day.

While the situation could change at a moment's notice, the message from law enforcement is for residents to go about their daily lives.

"I think they should take precaution, but I think they should also just go about their regular lives like they have been doing. As has been mentioned by my partners and myself, we are prepared. We think it's safe, but we want to be sure and prepared for anything that may happen. But we want people to go about their regular lives," said New York State Police Troop G Commander Major Christopher West.

State Police will continue to have an increased presence around the Capitol throughout the weekend.

Officials also said the National Guard is ready if needed.
