One person has been taken into custody following an hours-long standoff in Cayuga County.
It happened in Aurelius.
Officers say around 5 p.m. Friday, two deputies and a state trooper tried to serve a court order to Luke Gaffney, 39.
The order was to take his guns because he was considered a threat to himself or the community.
Gaffney allegedly started to fight with the officers, stabbing Deputy Adam Bacon multiple times before barricading himself inside his house.
More officers responded. Police say Gaffney threatened to harm other officers.
It took until 2 a.m. Saturday to convince Gaffney to leave the home. He's been charged with aggravated assault of an officer.
Spectrum News is told the deputy is being treated and is doing okay.
