What You Need To Know

  • The vice president of the Grand responded to a patient's viral Facebook video

  • In the video, RaeJean Wallace outlined multiple instances of alleged mistreatment of her and other patients

  • Nursing home officials say these allegations are true

  • The situation will be investigated internally and by the State Department of Health

"We categorically disagree with what has been posted,” said Bruce Gendron, the vice president of the Grand.

RaeJean Wallace’s video outlining the alleged mistreatment of her and other patients has over 30,000 views on Facebook. Some of the complaints in the video include staff not checking on her ailing foot, and patients not have their diapers changed.

But the vice president of the Grand says some parts of the video are untrue, "She made an allegation that she has made multiple complaints to the Department of Health and those complaints resulted in citations against the facility. I can categorically tell you that that is false."

He says she has filed complaints with the state in the past, but they haven’t resulted in any citations.

"Each and every one of those complaints was investigated on sight by a Department of Health investigator, or more than one investigator at times, and every single one of those complaints was found to be unsubstantiated," said Gerdron.

An internal investigation into the allegations made in the video will be conducted at the facility.

The Department of Health will also investigate.

"We want to be totally transparent about this. I welcome the fact that the Department of Health comes in and looks at her allegations, because I think they will find them to be untrue,” said Gendron.
