Three men have been arrested in connection to a recent homicide in Auburn.

Auburn police said at a press conference Monday morning that Tyree Lemar Anglin, 19, Gage Basil Ashley, 22, and Lucciano Vincette Spagnola, 17, are now facing charges in the death of 36-year-old Joshua Poole.

"We all share the common goal of investigating this crime." said Shawn Butler, Auburn Police Chief,  "Identifying and charging those responsible in order to provide the family of Mr. Joshua Poole with some sort of justice in their time of grief."

Authorities were called to Auburn’s Delevan Street neighborhood on November 15 where Poole was found shot. Auburn Police it was intended to be a robbery, but ended in the death of Poole.

"When a violent crime occurs, that is of course vicious and senseless, we all take it personal." said Butler.

Police say Ashley and Spagnola were the shooters, and Anglin helped.

The shooting happened at 8 Delevan Street, which according to court documents has surveillance footage. Video shows three men entering the home, two suspects appearing to be armed.  A brief altercation is caught on camera followed by the men running out of the house and into a car. That car was later found in the Seneca River on Friday.

"The back end of it was sticking out of the water, obviously that's concerning. It was near a boat launch." said Butler

Police have not found the weapons involved, but they believe it was a handgun and shotgun. Auburn Police, Cayuga County Sheriff's Department, and State Police have all worked on this case. Together they've executed several search warrants, done dozens of interviews, and collected hundreds of pieces of evidence.

"This past week has been an awesome display of grit and determination with all hands on deck from all involved agencies." said Butler.

Ashley is charged with first-degree murder, Spagnola is charged with second-degree murder. Anglin is charged with second degree murder and attempted robbery.

The investigation is still active and ongoing. Police say more arrests and charges may be forthcoming.
