One of the men involved in the shooting of a 12-year-old boy in Syracuse last October has accepted a plea deal.

Alberto Pinet pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon.

He's been accused of coordinating last year's shooting that led to the death of James Springer III on John Street.

Investigators don't believe the child was the target.

Pinet will be sentenced to 12 years in prison with his plea.

The alleged gunman, Johanen Pizarro, is still charged with murder in this case.
