After 28 years in the New York state Senate, the dean of the Senate’s Democratic Conference is retiring. 

Neil Breslin has represented the Albany area in the state Senate since 1997 and has seen both the highs of politics in Albany, including passage of gay marriage and prior approval, as well as the lows. 

Breslin stopped by the Capital Tonight studios to talk about the 2009 coup, how the institution has changed and his legacy.
