The holidays can be busy for all of us. You may be visiting family and working on your shopping list, while Santa and his elves are hard at work wrapping gifts and checking the nice list.
And for the staff at the United States Postal Service, this time of year means millions of packages and letters being sorted and delivered.
Mark Lawrence, strategic communications specialist with the USPS, joins Spectrum News 1 to talk to us more about that effort. He discusses the influx of shipping this time of year, what the postal service does to prepare for this time of year, hiring goals to help get it done, challenges workers face when they're out on delivery this time of year, impact of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers strike on U.S. operations, what people need to know if they want their packages or Christmas cards to make it in time for the holiday and more.
