Spectrum has announced an additional $40,000 grant to the Moreau Community Center in South Glens Falls.
The money will go towards the Skills4Life Program, which offers professional life skills and career search training, assistance and referral services to individuals of all ages.
Spectrum kicked off the partnership in October 2021. They donated 25 new laptops for a new technology room to support the organization’s training and technology program and provided internet service for the life of the program.
“The Block Party is a banner event for us, a chance to give back to the community and provide a fun, family-friendly day,” said Donna Nichols, executive director, Moreau Community Center. “To have Spectrum representatives attend and present the check for us to continue our Skills4Life program was icing on the cake. We so appreciate our partnership with them.”
The grant is through the Spectrum Community Center Assist.
“The long-term partnership we created with the Moreau Community Center is making a real difference in the lives of local residents in their Skills4Life Program by giving them the skills, tools and updated facilities they need to improve their economic situation,” said Rahman Khan, group vice president, Community Impact for Charter Communications, which operates the Spectrum brand of connectivity services. “Already thousands of people around the country have participated in SCCA in the neighborhoods we serve, as we continue to work with Moreau Community Center to provide essential job training in a safe and revitalized space.”
This initiative is part of Spectrum's $30 million philanthropic commitment to revitalize community centers and invest in job training programs.
