WORCESTER, Mass. - Athletes from around the world who competed in the Paris Olympics are already back to training, including Worcester's Aaron Ortiz.

Worcester's five-time World Champion is back home after representing Team USA as the lone male Muay Thai fighter at the Olympics. He said he had a great time showing off the sport he loves.

Now with another medal and a new Olympic tattoo, Ortiz is back training with the athletes he calls his family at Team Link Muay Thai in Worcester.

This year, Muay Thai was featured as a demonstration sport at the Olympics with male and female fighters from around the world displaying exhibition matches for two days in Paris.

Ortiz said he's happy with his performance and while he's fought around the world, competing at the Olympic Games is another accomplishment he never imagined the sport of Muay Thai would take him to.

"It was good. The fight was solid, good back and forth. It was definitely a good display of Muay Thai," Ortiz said. "I never would have thought that I would be traveling the world and seeing everything. It's brought a lot into my life, the sport of my time. It's just been a great ride. It was a great experience. It was fun just seeing all the Olympics and all the games going on. It was awesome, but definitely happy to be back home."

Team Link Muay Thai is hoping Muay Thai is added as an official event for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Ortiz said right now he's just focusing on training for and scheduling his next fight.
