An Oswego County fire department is warning the public after performing a water rescue on Saturday.

The Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire Department says it successfully rescued three people out of the Oneida River.

The department received a report of three juveniles on a pool raft floating down towards the Caughdenoy Dam.

Crews were able to return them home safely in under one hour.

The department is warning people that the currents in rivers and lakes are higher due to the heavy rains from Friday's storms.

They are also reminding everyone who will be on or near water to wear a life vest and to be aware of their surroundings.
