Almost two days after 13-year-old Nyah Mway was killed by Utica Police, the community is still outraged over the incident.

It was a chaotic scene at Utica City Hall on Saturday as residents expressed their anger to law enforcement, and that continued into the night.

Some have called the police's actions reckless, saying there was no reason to shoot Mway. Protests have been held outside the Utica Police Department’s building as frustrated residents continue to make their voices heard.

"What happened to this boy who didn't come home now? Something in that village happened, and we need to find out what that is and start working together collectively as a family, as humanity, as humans together, to figure out what we're doing so this doesn't happen again, because this is tragic and no one wins in this situation," protester Steven Blackmon said.

"The community is really frustrated," Utica resident Kay Klo said. "We want answers and we need justice. And the people are unrestful. We need answers and we need the cops to be held accountable for their actions."

As is protocol, the New York State's Attorney General's Office has opened an investigation into the shooting.
