Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is being sued under the Adult Survivors Act by a former staffer.
Brittany Commisso said Cuomo retaliated against her after she refused to perform sexual acts and reported him for sexual harassment.
"It disgusts me that Andrew Cuomo is even considering running for public office in the wake of [Eric Adams'] alleged sexual harassment when he himself will not accept responsibility or even acknowledge his sexual harassment of me, aside from numerous other victims, while the governor of our state," Commisso said in a statement to NY1.
Commisso came forward publicly in 2021, accusing Cuomo of groping her in the executive mansion in 2020.
Cuomo later resigned amid 11 accusations of sexual harassment and potential impeachment by the state Legislature.
Cuomo has maintained his innocence, and charges initially filed against him in the Commisso case were later dropped due to a lack of evidence.
Cuomo's attorney, Rita Glavin, responded to this new lawsuit, saying, “Ms. Commisso's claims are provably false, which is why the Albany District Attorney dismissed the case two years ago after a thorough investigation. Ms. Commisso's transparent attempt at a cash grab will fail. We look forward to seeing her in court."
