A new bill sponsored by Assemblymember Monica Wallace, passed unanimously in both legislative houses, would establish a new office under the New York State Department of Health, if signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul.
The Office of Hospice and Palliative Care Access and Quality would provide expertise and input on hospice policy development and regulation. Wallace successfully pushed this bill through the legislature along with fellow Democrat, Senator Michelle Hinchey.
Wallace spoke with Capital Tonight’s Susan Arbetter about the importance of the legislation.
