Yesterday, a grand jury indicted former President Donald Trump on four criminal counts, including conspiracy to defraud the nation. The charges are all related to the former president’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. 

Many Republicans view these charges as part of on-going "persecution" of Trump by the Department of Justice, and a strategic distraction from the legal troubles dogging Hunter Biden. 

Capital Tonight checked in with the head of the New York Republican Party, Ed Cox, to hear his take on the charges.
