One of the largest summer festivals in the region takes center stage in Oswego tonight.
The 34th annual Harborfest will run through the weekend in numerous locations across the Port City. The event will again feature activities in Breitbeck and East Park, Riverwalk West and downtown. More than 30 musical acts are scheduled through Sunday while you'll find vendors, a Midway and food.
Some highlights include the Children's Parade on Friday, helicopter rides on the West Pier and the big fireworks display on Saturday night.
This year, the event has a new executive director leading the charge in Dan Harrington.
"It’s been a chore for me trying to learn all this,” Harrington said. “I have a good staff that's been leading me along, telling me what I have to do. And like I said, I'm looking forward for Harborfest to start and have a good time.”
They're expecting around 75,000 people to attend the festival through the weekend. If you're heading to Oswego for the Grucci fireworks on Saturday, those are set to go off at 9:30 p.m.
More information on the events, including shuttle information, is available on the Harborfest website.
