Summer starts this weekend in Corning with GlassFest. The annual festival brings together glass artistry, live music, food, and more. It begins tonight in the Crystal City.

The free festival has a wide variety of activities for kids and adults. The Gaffer District is putting the event on for the 13th year.

Technically, GlassFest begins with a glass ribbon cutting tonight at the Museum of Glass. Most of the fun gets started Friday and runs through Sunday. Everything throughout the weekend will be free.

“The only thing you’re going to spend money on is shopping and dining,” said Coleen Fabrizi, executive director of Corning’s Gaffer District.

Weekend events will include glass-blowing demonstrations and musical performances, as well as street vendors and sculpture welding.

GlassFest 2023 is in downtown Corning through Sunday. Fireworks are Saturday night at 9:45 p.m. over the Chemung River.
