The Cicero town clerk's office on Wednesday was packed with a group of smiling, cheering kids who had just accomplished something very special. No, this, wasn’t a typical town board meeting.
“We’ve never felt it, so it feels kind of weird," Jackson Wilhite said.
“It feels really good, because it's the town of Cicero. And it's really fun," Myles Boehmer said.
The Cicero Falcons, an 8-under football team, was honored.

“We won the state championship and we won the divisional championship, which makes me really happy," Vasiah Henderson said.
“We’re the best in the state," Mason Douglas said.
“We keep beating and beating and beating these teams," Aaron Zuercher said.
"We won every single game. We did not stop," Colin Cannon said.
Most of the kids had never even played tackle football.
They ran the table.
“We spend a lot of time together. We don’t mess around with each other because during the games, we should work together and we shouldn’t be mean to each other," Joey Corasaniti said.
“We just went with the running game and the passing game, and somehow we got in the end zone," Nolan Kozlowski said.
They found the end zone and shut down Rotterdam to cap off a perfect 11-0 season.
“Hard work pays off. We have a saying, 'work hard, play hard.' We have medallions that say it and we say it at practice, 'work hard, play hard,'" Victor Henderson said.
That’s not their only saying.
“We go one, two, three, family, four, five, six, Falcons. And we end that," Michael Fortino said.
The Falcons cheerleaders were also recognized for their support during the ceremony.
