Everyone loves a bargain, especially with prices rising. But how can you get a bargain meal at the state fair?

There are several spots on the fairgrounds where you can get food for a low price point.

Here’s an example of a meal on a budget you could find at the NYS Fair:

• Drink: Moose Juice, $2, choose any flavor you like, or mix and match
• Appetizer: Meatball slider, $2 from P-Z-O's, or grab a donut for $1
• Dessert: Mini cones, $2 at the inflatable ice cream cone booths
• Main course: Hot dog, $1 from West End Bar and Grille
• Main course: Hamburger $4 at Tommy C's; they also have cheap sodas

If you choose one drink, one appetizer, one main course, and one dessert from this list, you’ll have a $10 meal at the fair.

“If you’ve got a family of four or five people, some of these stands you’re looking at $100 if you’re looking to get dinner. Whereas here you can come up with maybe $20 and get a couple hot dogs, couple burgers, and continue on your way where you’re not killing your wallet,” said Dan Karleski, manager of Tommy C’s.
