Summer concert season is kicking off at the St. Joseph's Health Amphitheater at Lakeview tonight with country star Tim McGraw.
If you're heading to any concerts this year, we've got some information to help you get there. Tonight's 7:00 p.m. show will be the first of 20 shows slated for this summer through September 20.
For parking this year, you'll want to plan ahead on how to get to the Amphitheater. Orange Lot is open for $20.
You can also take a ride sharing option where you'll get dropped off in a designated area in the Pink Lot near State Fair Boulevard. This will also be where you'll get picked back up after the show if you choose to use the ride-sharing option.
Centro will also be offering shuttle service from its downtown hub a few hours before the shows and up to a half hour after shows end.
Local businesses are also getting in on the excitement.
Shaughnessy's is offering a $2 round trip ticket where you can park in their Harrison Street garage downtown and get shuttled to and from the concert.
"They can purchase the bus tickets right here at the bar. Two dollars there and back. We're doing food specials, drink specials. We have a couple vendors coming to do some sampling for the guests. It's just really a good time and very convenient for people to go to and from the concert," said Shaughnessy's Irish Pub General Manager Luke DeWitt.
Shaghnessy's is planning to have several pre-parties before most shows, generally starting at 4:00 p.m. You can also support other downtown businesses and take a Centro shuttle by purchasing tickets at the hub for $1 each way.
There are 20 shows at the Amp which is the most amount of scheduled shows in three years. Unlike last year, most shows do not have COVID-19 restrictions requiring masks or vaccination proof.
