A couple of big announcements came out of Falcon Park on Friday.
First off, Auburn Baseball, Inc., owners Don Lewis and Bob Ohmann signed an additional five-year agreement to keep the Doubledays on the field, meaning they'll be in Auburn through the 2028 season.
The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League squad went 26-19 last season, and fans are watching.
Lewis and Ohmann Don have already seen a 23% increase in season ticket sales.
Not only is the team staying, there will be another mascot joining Abner Doubleday.
Meet "Casey," a falcon who will attend D-Days games, along with other sporting events at Falcon Park and Casey Park.
After a tumultuous couple of years, baseball will be a constant in the community.
“If we can have a family come out and enjoy a night of baseball, watch a little kid smile and have a bag cotton candy during a game and take some of their worries away and just enjoy a family night out, that’s what Bob and I aim for," Lewis said.
Opening night will be 7 p.m. June 3.
