The first annual Finger Lakes Boat Show ended its inaugural run on Sunday.

The free Ithaca show was open for the public to get a glimpse of everything from performance boats to kayaks.

All of the vendors featured in the event were based in the Finger Lakes region, including German Brothers, Mark's Marine and Paddledockers.

Event staff say that despite its name, the event isn't just about boats.

"What we're trying to do is build interest in the outdoor recreation community, and promote awareness of what programs and opportunities are available," Brian Poulsen of Cliff Street Retreat said. "It's not just about boating, but we're bringing in other people, like Discover Cayuga or the Coast Guard, to help keep boaters and outdoor enthusiasts informed about what's available in the area."

Representatives from area organizations were available to answer anyone's questions about outdoor activities.
