Parents showed up at meeting Wednesday supporting plans to move the Syracuse Academy of Science and Citizenship Charter school.

The city of Syracuse wants to move the school to a building that's leased in the Liverpool Central School District.

We reported earlier this month on the district's plan to change the grades in some of their schools, rendering some of their buildings empty.

This all comes as the school expanded from a K-2 into a K-6.

Administrators want to make sure students can continue exploring their choices, making sure they're college and career ready.

"The main thing we're trying to do with this is give our children a pathway to grow inside the school system they've already grown up in so our kids that opened our school in kindergarten, first grade, second grade in 2017 we want to make sure that they stay with us in the family and as a choice for our families we can continue to be there," said Dominic Frisina, dean of elementary at Syracuse Academy of Science and Citizenship.

The academy plans on adding a grade 12 to the new location.
