Some people dream of performing in front of an audience. One Central New York teen has already graced an Off-Broadway stage in New York City.

Brigg Liberman is your typical 13-year-old, with a special talent.

“It's something that I've loved. I've loved to perform since I was little and it's something that becoming a reality is just my biggest dream,” said Liberman.

Last year, several rounds of auditions for the premiere of an Off-Broadway musical, Trevor, led him to an ensemble role.

“It means a lot to originate a role. It's been one of my dreams since I started getting into acting,” said Liberman.

He got the chance to keep several of the costumes he wore during his performances. Holding up a purple satin dress shirt he said, “This shirt is really I think one of my favorite things I got to wear. It's so cool. And I think when I get married, I want to wear this shirt.”

He also kept the shoes that carried him through his 60 performances of the New York City run ending in January.

“Doing more and more shapes you as a performer and shapes you as a person as well,” said Liberman.

He was also cast as the understudy for two of the leading roles but never got to take the stage as those characters.

Now that the Off-Broadway New York City run is over, he has his sights set on the next role. Brigg also has some advice for other kids hoping to one day play roles on a big stage.

“Keep trying,” said Liberman. “Every day do something tiny that could better you as a person and better you as an actor or actress or other.”

Though he might be physically back in Central New York doing math homework, his mind is still on the stage.

“I would definitely love to win a Tony eventually,” said Liberman, reflecting on goals.

He has even more big dreams, like being in a movie or TV series, and being in a Broadway show.
