Tuesday marks the official start to Girl Scout Cookie Season with scouts across 26 counties included in the New York Penn Pathways program beginning to take pre-orders.

All the usual favorites from "Thin Mints" to "Tag-A-Longs" will be offered again this year, alongside a new addition: "Adventurefuls" are brownie-inspired cookies with caramel and sea salt.

Organizers say you can purchase your cookies a few different ways this season.

"The Girl Scout program is all-girl-led, so in order to order cookies you have to get them from a registered Girl Scout. You can find a Girl Scout probably in your family or in your neighborhood or through someone at work. If you don't know a Girl Scout, you can contact our council office and we can hook you up with a troop who is selling in the local area," said NYPENN Pathways Senior Marketing and Communications Director Jaime Alvarez.

Alvarez said cookie selling teaches girls everything from goal setting and decision making to money management.

Cookies can be purchased for $5 a box and will arrive in late February. You can also look for community booths in March.
