Driving throughout downtown Syracuse has been a bit of a hassle as of late, due to the number of construction projects currently ongoing in the city.

Mayor Ben Walsh says the city is repaving more than 20 miles of road this year, but due to the pandemic, progress has slowed considerably.

"The pandemic did slow us down a little bit on the Salina and State project, so I think looking at it this year we would like to be further ahead, and out of downtown primarily with that project so it has resulted in a lot of work," said Walsh.

Crews are doing the final milling and paving on South Salina Street this week.
