Friday marked the deadline for everyone to be out of the Olbiston Apartments in Utica, but some tenants have been given an extension.
The mayor says the city is giving them the weekend to work with agencies to help the remaining two to three tenants move.
Earlier this month, the city asked tenants to leave due to numerous code violations.
Tenants already had to leave the upper floors a few years ago, also due to code violations.
The city is also in in litigation with the Olbiston’s owner.
The mayor says the Supreme Court judge recently gave the owner 90 days to fix the violations. But he says there haven't been any repairs to the roof in the last few years, so the city is speaking with a potential buyer for the building.
