If you're a classic car fan or like to show off your wheels, you've probably noticed that many shows and cruise-in events have returned. Last summer was not an easy time for car enthusiasts in our area as many events were either canceled or had several restrictions.

Spectrum News 1 recently stopped by the Three Rivers Cruz in Clay where they have another show every Wednesday night. The show takes place from now through mid-September.

Co-organizer Gary Schaap said about 1,200 people attended last week's event. That included more than 400 classic cars and trucks that people drove into Three Rivers Point Park.

With the Syracuse Nationals in a month, many people just have the itch to check out or show off their hot rods, classics and custom vehicles.

"It's an all-free event. We raise money for the Golisano Children's Hospital. The town of Clay did a good job. They upgraded the park with new gazebos and bathrooms. It's a three-acre area. People just love coming here," said Schaap.

"Last year, it was just you know a few people would show up but you didn't wander around much. You'd see people and you had to be so far away from each other. It's really nice to be able to get out and be just back to normal," said classic truck owner Gary Dann.

Schaap said the show raised $860 last week for Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital. The Three Rivers Cruz takes place every Wednesday from 5-8:30 p.m.
