A popular marina in the City of Oswego is back open Tuesday after a $3.5 million dollar renovation project. Wright's Landing was closed last year after some flooding issues.

A major portion of the project was to raise the marina 3 feet from Lake Ontario to alleviate those flooding concerns.

The marina also has some new amenities which include a welcome center, pavilion and a small gift shop. The marina's docks were resurfaced while there is also a new fueling station for boaters.

The ADA accessible marina also includes new restrooms, showers and a firepit seating area for boaters.

"It took a lot of time and effort. It was about $3.5 million dollars all told, but I think it's well worth it and I think it can be used as a nice economic tool as we try to get more boaters from Lake Ontario to stop here at Wright's Landing and try to get Oswego residents down to the waterfront to explore as well," said Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow.

Mayor Barlow says the city continues to work on a $12.5 million dollar project on the International Pier. That project is expected to be complete next year and will include a pedestrian oriented boardwalk.

The city is getting help from two state grants to complete the waterfront projects.
