It's been more than a year and a half since we last saw the Syracuse Mets in action at NBT Bank Stadium. However, pro baseball is finally making its return in the Salt City.
The Mets are set to host the Scranton-Wilkes Barre RailRiders later tonight with a first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. There are lots of chances to check out the team, as they play a 60-game home schedule.
If you purchased a ticket online for tonight's game, you're going to have to show proof of a full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before you're allowed in. Testing will be available on-site.
Once you're in the gate, you'll notice several new amenities as part of $25 million in renovations. There's a new deck area and private party room in right field along with a new bar in left field. Other upgrades include new bullpens, seating and lights.
One of the biggest draws for the Mets has always been promotions. Spectrum News spoke to General Manager Jason Smorol about what fans can look forward to. He said everything from fireworks to themed nights like Taco Tuesdays and Dollar Thursdays are back.
There's a lot of information surrounding the season, so your best option is to visit the Syracuse Mets website.
