A popular science and technology based program at the Museum of Science and Technology is returning for another session.

What You Need To Know

  • The Museum of Science and Technology is bringing back its popular STEAM Explorers program for the spring

  • The program will run for 25 weeks and registered students will be able to do their academic work as well as participate in a number of science and technology based activities

Registration for STEAM Explorers is underway with the program set to begin Monday, January 4.

The program was first introduced by the museum in September and organizers said about 75 kids participated. Students between the ages of 4-7 and 8-12 are separated in groups of 10.

The program which runs January through June will take place over 25 weeks. The majority of participants will be dropped off at the museum once a week to do their assignments but also participate in museum exploration, STEAM projects, and games.

Organizers said the program is being offered again because of its success this past fall.

"It's a change of scenery. This fall semester there were 12 different school districts, so kids are meeting other students that they may not otherwise meet. And I think the best part for the parents and the teachers is that it’s a nice structured day," said MOST Executive Director Lauren Kochian.

The camp will go on Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There are payment plans available if parents are interested in that, as well.
