This weekend, he’s heading from door-to-door to get his neighbors to sign a petition to support the People’s Agenda, among other efforts.

One of the leaders of Rebirth SYR, Hasahn has been working hard on activist work like this and local protests. He’s even busy during his downtime especially while balancing the work in Syracuse and Rochester.

“We lead some of the chants so that they have a louder voice than the people. I’ve been bringing two speakers and mics,” said Bloodworth.

Daniel Prude protests continue nearly daily in Rochester.

“Extremely intense. We’ve been marching peacefully until we’ve been attacked by police,” said Bloodworth.

Rubber bullets fly during some protests, and Hasahn keeps going back, with other members of Rebirth SYR.

Though it may be another city, the heartache is universal.

“It’s always intense, it’s always emotional. You’ve got to go with the flow and feel the heartfelt things the people are feeling,” said Bloodworth.
