The absentee ballot process began Friday, with more than 30,000 ballots sent out in Onondaga County alone.

When you go to fill out your absentee ballot, make sure not to mark anywhere on the ballot itself aside from filling in the bubbles to cast a vote.

This mean's don't sign or mark it in any way, or it could be rejected.

Voting this far ahead of Election Day means some minds could change come November 3.

If that's the case, you're still able to vote at the polls on Election Day.

"We've had a wonderful rush of inspectors this year so we're overstaffing the sites. So someone can be in charge of maintaining social distancing, wiping down each piece of equipment and surface in between voter use, and making sure people have masks," said Election Commissioner Dustin Czarny.

If you don't want to wait for an absentee ballot to come in the mail, you can pick yours up from the Board of Elections office in Syracuse, which is at 1000 Erie Boulevard West.
