Protesters once again gathered in Rome Sunday after a resident found racist graffiti on her U-Haul truck.

Joya Stuckman was moving to a different apartment, because she says she didn't feel welcome where she lived.

Once the racial slurs were found on her rental truck, dozens of people stood by her side.

Sunday night, Joya and others were organizing a Labor Day protest when they say they saw posts on social media of people threatening to show up to the protest and be violent.

Joya says she went to the police and was assured law enforcement would show up, but Monday, no officer was in sight.

"This isn't going to consume my life. If they would just follow through and get the appropriate information right away, we can kind of streamline this process and not have to disrupt their neighborhoods if that's what they're gonna call it. We're not disrupting, we're speaking out," said Joya.

The protest was held at Triangle Park.

Though no organized counter-protesters showed up, several people stopped to shout and argue with protesters.
