There are still no definitive answers with regard to what will actually happen this fall in high school sports. The section executive directors met this afternoon for discussions, but there wasn't any sort of decision that came out of those meetings.
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) did say it will get the sections more detailed clarification on the latest guidance put out by the state Department of Health Thursday evening.
That guidance will allow each section to decide how it moves forward. Chris Watson of NYSPHSAA said, "We’ve got a lot of work to do."
Governor Andrew Cuomo has given clearance for certain sports to begin on September 21, now each section in the state is taking all the information in order to make a decision for its own area.
