A grand jury has decided that an Onondaga County sheriff's detective was justified in a shooting that killed a Syracuse man last month.

Detective Mark Grady was conducting surveillance on Carbon Street in Syracuse when authorities say he saw someone thrown from a vehicle.

Grady was following a SUV when suspects got out of the car and allegedly opened fire on Grady's unmarked police vehicle.

When Grady shot back he hit 31-year-old Aaron Hudson, who died at the hospital.

The grand jury also indicted three other suspects for their roles in the incident.

Jonqual Thornton and Vaughn Sanders are charged with attempted murder in the second degree, evidence tampering and weapons possession.

Keenan Davis is also charged with evidence tampering and weapons possession.
