Dozens of neighbors and friends gathered to remember 22-year-old Tyler McBain Wednesday evening.
McBain was found dead in his apartment on Seneca Avenue in Oneida Castle Tuesday afternoon.
His friends put together the candlelight vigil to share memories and mourn together.
They tell Spectrum News McBain leaves behind a one-year-old child and they want to make sure he has plenty of memories of his father.
"He was such a beautiful soul. He touched everybody he came into contact with. That's why you'll see such a great turnout tonight. Everyone he came into contact with, he made them smile within seconds. He is truly a great soul taken far, far too soon," said Nicholas Hart, McBain's friend.
McBain's death is considered a homicide.
Police were able to track down one suspect, thanks to a description from a neighbor who heard loud noises upstairs and saw two people run from McBain's apartment, but the search continues for the second.
