Peaceful protests continued in Syracuse on Tuesday following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Demonstrators have taken to city streets since Saturday, marching and calling for an end of police brutality against black citizens. After protesting turned violent Saturday night, protesters have taken a different approach to making a difference on Tuesday.

Organizers are encouraging people to register to vote in the upcoming presidential election in November. In total, 172 people registered to vote.

As the protest continued, demonstrators marched to feed the homeless living in the city.

As their march went on, demonstrators took a knee at the intersection of South State Street and East Fayette Street to read the names of those impacted by police brutality. Afterwards, they continued their movement towards the east side of Syracuse.

Protestors say they would like to see is change in the use-of-force policy, a passage of the Syracuse Right to Know Act, a bigger Citizen Review Board, and more.

Demonstrators say they will continue marching toward justice and they hope local leaders will join them.
