During times of uncertainty and difficulty you really learn what a community is made of. One member of the Syracuse community is a local insurance agency owner who is working with restaurants to bring some sunshine to people’s lives.
Linzy Frank opened up the Agency of CNY last year. After seeing her business being affected by the outbreak, she wanted to help others going through challenges of their own.
“I kept racking my brain. How can I do something, how can I help? As a small business owner, how I can connect the dots to help other small businesses and give back to the community?” Frank asked.
So Frank came up with an idea that will do just that, and provide positivity for people who need it at this time.
“One of my favorite things to do in Central York is eat, there’s some wonderful restaurants, so I partnered with one of my carriers Erie Insurance and reached out to a couple different restaurants,” Frank said.
One of those restaurants she contacted was Rise N Shine Diner. Danielle Mercuri is the owner, and said it was an easy decision to offer help.
“She said she wanted to do $50 per household, however many bags she was doing, and I said I’ll match you,” Frank said.
These gift cards for a variety of restaurants including Rise N Shine are being put into gift bags, and every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in May, two bags will be given away Linzy says.
“What we’re asking is for people to tag on the post people who they feel like can use the positivity or whatever it might be and then we are going to put it into a hat and we’ll deliver them as long as their local the next day,” Frank said.
The cards are delivered by Linzy Frank herself, who’s been working on these bags with her team.
“Even if one person can be impacted by this I know I’m not doing a ton, but it’s something I can do and I want to have the ability to try and make someone smile. If I reach one person, that’s great. With someone in my profession, my every day job is to help people and protect people, and I think it’s crucial in times like these that we should support each other and see if we can make a difference.”
