For most children, snow days mean a free day to play indoors, but not for this brother and sister.

15-year-old Aidan Henriksen and 13-year-old Cecelia Henriksen spent their snow day shoveling throughout the Eastwood neighborhood in Syracuse.

"We just woke up, so we put our snow pants on and our sweatpants and came outside and grabbed our shovels,” said Cecelia.

This snow may have not been the easiest to move, but that didn't stop these two.

"It's a lost art,” said Tim Ditterline, the Henriksen’s neighbor. “I often see people on Facebook saying, ‘Where are all the kids shoveling driveways and sidewalks?’ Well, I'm lucky to have some right next door."

Ditterline says he's thankful for the help and hopes more teenagers follow in their footsteps.

"I think it's real important,” said Ditterline. “As a kid, this is how we used to spend our snow days -- go make a buck or two if you can and go sledding afterwards."

But the Henriksens didn't charge a dime.

"I just like coming out, and I like to help my neighbors because we're new here and I want to make a good impression,” said Cecelia.

It was a day for these siblings to bond with the community and each other while also giving back.

"I just want to help my community and help the people who need and can't do it theirselves,” said Cecelia.
