Dozens gathered at Pizza Man Pub in Baldwinsville to watch the Baldwinsville Marching Band live on TV at the annual Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, a day after New Year’s Eve when most would be with their family.

The only issue is that the TV network on didn’t show the band, and cut the kids out. Lenore Jaquin showed up around at 11 a.m. to the pub to cheer on the Bees.

“It’s really great for the community to have this honor,” said Jaquin. “These kids really worked hard to get to the Rose Bowl Parade."

The Bees have been preparing for this for months. The band is the first from New York to march in the parade in more than 30 years.

It was a disappointment for most locals to not be able to see the B’ville kids live on TV. Especially for Jordan Hayes, who is a former B’ville Marching Bees band member.

“Disappointed, and upset and kind of angry, ”said Hayes. “Well, not angry but disappointed. Not only for me but also fellow people here.”

He ran through his social media shortly after, to find many people already commenting on the network skipping the marching band.

“I think it’s (this band) very important. It’s an opportunity to show what you’ve been working on for the past months’ time and it wasn’t possible because of this networl," Hayes said.

It may not be a big deal for major networks to show every band, thought Hayes, but it is for Baldwinsville.

“I don’t think it was right you should have honored all the bands,” commented Hayes.

Some of the others who were present during the mishap at Pizza Man Pub said even if they couldn’t watch the Baldwinsville Marching Band live, they will be looking to stream it online.
