A standoff in Poland that lasted roughly 36 hours has come to an end, New York State Police confirmed Tuesday morning.

The standoff concluded without incident, and one person was taken into custody with charges pending.

State Police and SWAT teams were at the scene of a domestic-related standoff on Military Road. The call came in around 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Neighbors say they're surprised something like this would happen, since they say people tend to look out for one another in the neighborhood.

"I heard car doors slamming all night and everything,” said neighbor David Sickler. “Then you get up in the morning and look out your window and you see SWAT teams and trooper cars. That's not usual for here."
