Incumbent Robert Palmieri will continue as mayor of Utica.

Palmieri, who has been at the mayoral position for the last eight years, squeezed out a victory over Joseph Marino and Republican Matt Arcuri. Palmieri received 49.5 percent of the vote, while Marino received 41.4 percent of the votes.

Palmieri has said he'd focus on infrastructure, public safety, and sustainability.

"We have never seen the robust growth in our city that we've seen in the last 70, 80 years,” Palmieri said. “I think we've proven ourselves, and I'd love to have the opportunity to continue for four more years to really accentuate the great growth of our great city."
