The Le Moyne College faculty is trying to make the new freshman class feel at home, so they surprised them with a celebrity basketball game.

The Syracuse Mayor and Onondaga County Executive went up against the college's president and men's basketball coach.

Both teams brought their skills to the court, but the officials lost 16-3.

Which means, some students will have the opportunity to intern at the mayor or county offices.

"We're very happy we lost for that reason to just let these young people to get in the offices and really get a taste of what it's like to be the executive or serve in the executive staff," said County Executive Ryan McMahon and Le Moyne College alumnus.

The Class of 2023 is Le Moyne's second largest class and it's the most ethnically diverse class in the college's history.
