Welcome to the Rise Above the Streets Recovery Outreach office on Oak Street in Syracuse.

Every Saturday the organization hands out meals and clothing to people experiencing homelessness and now they can do it any day of the week.

"Al-amin is such a powerful individual, so pushing him along is really a part of helping our mission as an organization," said Molina Healthcare President Colleen Schmidt.

Al-amin Muhammad's story is well-known here in Syracuse. He was once homeless and now he's working to serve the homeless. In partnership with Molina Healthcare and a very determined girl scout, the community closet was made possible.

"Since we are all use to having so much, I just wanted to help those in need because it really warms my heart, just knowing that they don't have much and I can help them and bring the community in to help them and it's really inspiring what Al-amin does," said girl scout Emily Dowd.

The closet include access to clothing, shoes, diapers and other hygiene products. There's also an interview closet with professional clothing and prompts for job interviews.

"I've actually been crying all night and I've been bringing this up. Please never give up. Continue to fight for your dreams and continue to fight for yourself," said Muhammad.

The community closet is free for those who need it.
