The Syracuse Mets are celebrating a summer tradition with a name change.

The team was re-christened the Syracuse Butter Sculptures for Saturday's game. It's inspired by the popular exhibit at the Great New York State Fair, which marks the unofficial end of summer next month.

In addition to the name change, the food in the stadium was all fair themed, including deep fried pickles, loaded corn dogs, and a Philly cheesesteak pizza.

"We love to celebrate our local community." said Syracuse Butter Sculptures General Manager, Jason Smorol. "We've been the salt potatoes, we've been the brannock devices. There's so much good stuff that's in our community to celebrate, we try to find something every year that connects with the community."

The jerseys worn by the team were auctioned off as a way to raise money to help kids fighting cancer.
