Bright green bikes can be seen riding through Syracuse as part of a new program. There are around 70 bikes in the city now and soon there will be 200.

"The key with transportation is to have options, and Syracuse is a city that doesn't have a ton of options." said Syracuse ‘Gotcha’ Community Manager, Paul Colabufo

They’re part of a new bike sharing program called Gotcha that's giving city residents access to a bike.

"Once people got on the bikes everything makes good intuitive sense people had fun with it." said Colabufo

But before you get on you have to download the 'gotcha' app. You'll need to have your license handy to prove you're 18-years-old, and a credit card to set up payment. After you put in all your information, you're ready to roll.

Once you're on the bike it costs 15 cents per minute to use, and when fully charged you go up to 40 miles. And if you like it a lot you can get a subscription.

"You can do a monthly subscription for $12 per month, or a yearly subscription for $50 a year." said Colabufo

These bikes have a unique function. It's called e-assist and it's an electronic feature that makes pedaling easier.

"It's almost like having a superpower." said Colabufo. "Just everything feels really, really easy you go up a hill it’s like going on flat ground, so it's fun."

When you're done riding, click end ride on the app and return to any of the 35 hubs in the city.
