Can you imagine finishing high school and college at the same time? Well for one hardworking local graduate, it's a reality.

Mackenzie Eck was the first in her high school to graduate through Onondaga Community College's program “College Credit Now."

She graduated from Jordan-Elbridge High School Saturday, and also received an associate’s degree in math and science.

Eck was set to graduate early from high school last year, but decided to stay and complete her associate's degree thanks to a recommendation from a school counselor.

She had a full course load, including college-level calculus, physics, chemistry and biology.

"It was definitely an adjustment to go from high school to college, but everyone was super nice about it and super supportive, so it was great," Eck said.

In the fall, she will be transferring all of her college credits to continue her education at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
