A man and babysitter were charged after a 3-month-old child was injured last week.

According to New York State Police, troopers responded to Upstate Pediatric Center in Syracuse on May 14 for a reported 3-month-old baby who was being treated for injuries to the face consistent with bruising and swelling, as well as scratches near the eye.

Following an investigation, Nolan Webster, 25, from Constantia, was arrested Monday and charged with assault in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

Webster admitted to throwing a game controller at the baby after getting upset with the child crying.

He was issued an appearance ticket.

Police also arrested Samantha L. Boots, 28, also of Constantia, and charged her with endangering the welfare of a child.

Boots was determined to be the infant’s babysitter.
