The New York State Fairgrounds will be filled with big hearts this weekend.

Over the next two days, there will be a pair of fundraisers designed to help breast cancer research. It starts out with Paws for a Cure event taking place tonight.

Dog owners are encouraged to bring your dog to the fairgrounds, donate $10, and walk with your dog for one mile. Registration is at 5:00 p.m. with the event starting at 6:00 p.m.

Saturday morning, both walkers and runners are encouraged to participate in the More Than Pink event. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the event begins at 10:00 a.m.

All the proceeds made over the weekend will benefit the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Research fund.

"We really want to continue the energy and support, and it's inclusive of everyone, and dogs are just a great example of a really wonderful community that's willing to put their beliefs into action to support a good cause," said Susan G. Komen Foundation Executive Director Kate Flannery.

Flannery says the Central New York community has helped raise $10 million over the last 25 years for the Komen Foundation.
