Hundreds from across the Mohawk Valley came together at SUNY Polytechnic Institute Sunday for the 2019 Alzheimer’s Association Walk To End Alzheimer’s.

The three-mile walk at SUNY POLY raised funds for the Alzheimer's Association, which is dedicated to advancing research.

Organizers say the walk grows each year, but unfortunately, so does the disease.

"This can affect anybody at any age, there are 5.8 million Americans that are currently living with this disease,” said Cathy James, of the CNY Alzheimer’s Association. “So the research that is happening right now is vital for us to make sure we can find better ways for us to treat this."

Some warning signs of Alzheimer's include memory loss, confusion, and difficulty completing familiar tasks.
